    Is EchoMem connected?

What happens next?

Echo becomes the shared memory layer beneath your tools. Ask an agent to recall an old decision, or tell it to save the useful parts of the work you just finished.

“What did we decide about the retry logic?”

“Save this conversation to Echo.”

If Windows gets in the way.

These three fixes cover the most common setup issues.

“Windows protected your PC”

The installer is not yet signed by a verified publisher. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Your agent cannot see Echo

Fully quit and reopen the agent after you connect it. MCP configuration is read when the app starts.

You work in WSL or a terminal

The app connects tools installed on Windows itself. For tools inside WSL, use the command-line setup below.

Prefer the command line?

For WSL, Linux, or a machine without the app, install the Echo MCP bridge instead. It needs Node.js 18 or newer.

npm i -g @echomem/mcp@latest && echomem-mcp init
